February 2014 – The Residence by Cenizaro hotel collection has been recognised by travellers around the world at the 2014 TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice Awards, with its properties The Residence Zanzibar picking up four accolades and The Residence Mauritius recognised in two more categories.

Now in its 12th year, the annual awards by the world’s largest travel site celebrates hospitality excellence with due recognition to only the top-performing 10% of establishments listed that consistently achieve outstanding travellers’ reviews. Winners are determined by reviews and opinions of TripAdvisor travellers worldwide.

Achieving top ranking distinctions, The Residence Zanzibar leads at No. 1 in the categories of Top 10 Hotels, Top 10 Luxury Hotels and Top 10 Hotels for Romance in Tanzania and placed No. 4 amongst the Top 25 Hotels in Africa. This is the second year in succession since its opening in 2011 that the hotel has won the awards. Located in the southwest corner of Zanzibar, the 66-villa resort reflects the island’s melting pot of cultures and provides guests with the sense of luxury and privacy, with its own personal swimming pool and sun terrace in every villa.

On the winning streak as well is The Residence Mauritius which was distinguished in the Top 10 Hotels for Romance and Top 10 Luxury Hotels in Mauritius categories. Sitting on 10 hectares of tropical gardens on the east cost of the island, the resort is inspired by turn-of-the-century plantation houses that exude a colonial charm with elegance and sophistication.

The Residence by Cenizaro collection of hotels has been constant recipients of TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice Awards since the award was established in 2002. With properties in Tunis, Maldives, Zanzibar and Mauritius, each resort exudes a distinctive personality and sense of place, embodying the brand’s philosophy of providing heartfelt hospitality with discerning attention to detail to enriching its guests’ experiences.
